Classes and webinars for entrepreneursStarting January 2027

Start from a blank page. Build something that lasts.

I've been in lending since 1994. A few years ago I was handed a blank slate and asked to build a lending division from nothing. Starting in January, I'm teaching what that taught me: how to get something off the ground, how to run it well, and how to grow a team without losing what made it work.

About me

The short version

I became a loan officer in 1994, and for close to twenty years I did what loan officers do: listened, ran the numbers, and helped people make good decisions about their homes.

In 2013 my grandfather asked me about a reverse mortgage. Honestly, I was skeptical. I thought he might get taken advantage of, so I told him to let me dig in first. Once I understood how it worked, I did the loan for him. It was the first reverse mortgage I ever did, and I watched it lift a weight off him. He traveled more and lived the comfortable life he'd earned. That loan changed my career. I've worked in reverse mortgages ever since.

Then came the chance that taught me the most. I was given a blank slate and asked to build a lending division from scratch. Nobody handed me a playbook. I set up the operations, negotiated with investors, hired the people, and grew the teams. We built it to be fast and dependable, typically closing loans in under 20 days, because when your business runs on referrals, being reliable is how you keep them.

That build is what these classes are about. Not theory. The real decisions, the stuff that worked, and the stuff I'd do differently, for anyone building something of their own.

The classes

What we'll cover

Live classes and webinars for entrepreneurs and anyone running a team. The topics come straight from what I've had to figure out myself.

  1. Building from a blank page

Where to start when there's nothing there yet. What to build first, what can wait, and how to get to your first real result without trying to do everything at once.

  2. Operations that hold up

Being efficient is a real competitive advantage. We'll talk about setting up processes and handoffs that work, and why you should never take on more than you can deliver well.

  3. Hiring and growing a team

Who to bring on first, what to look for beyond a resume, and how to get new people up to speed by pairing them with someone who has done the work before.

  4. Negotiating with partners

Investors, vendors, and the people you depend on. How to build the kind of relationship where a phone call or a text gets things done, and how to earn that position in the first place.

  5. Growing on referrals

Referral business is the best business, and the easiest to lose. How to protect those relationships while you grow, and how to go where your competitors aren't.
